Located in Manhattan's West Village, this Perry Street Residence takes advantage of its captivating views of the Hudson River, while making intimate spaces for living and working. To maximize the open plan and exterior views, the design strategy introduced a centralized volume to house bathrooms, closets, storage. Reacting to programmatic needs, the volume adapts with subtle adjustments and shifts. Simple materiality gives way to expressing the traditional loft-like experience. Revealing concrete ceilings and walls, deep walnut floor, and pristine white plaster that acts as a canvas for art work as well as the changing light; Perry Street is a space that constantly evolves with the time of day, season, and year.
