The design concept at Compass is cozy modern. Spatially linked rooms feature colors and materials inspired by the American landscape; glass, wood, stone, and steel portray the natural and urban context. The asymmetric exterior and interior spaces echo the pinwheel movement of Piet Mondrian’s painting “Broadway Boogie Woogie”, balancing modern red with a pastoral palette of blues and greens.

The ninety-foot long, three inch thick illuminated glass bar is Compass’ most dramatic element, uniting the three dining areas: a lounge, a café/bar, and a main split-level dining room. Red suede love seats and a raised platform surrounding the main dining room, creating an arena-like atmosphere. Hidden further in the restaurant is a private dining room for forty-four people that peers into the kitchen.
